John Spinks 1956-2002Ode to SpinksyJohn joined us feet first in 1956 He leaves today without saying goodbye Some will remember his great need for speed With his own prancing horse he took a little more care But alas the Ferrari it had to go In its place there were new company cars For himself he shunned the normal humdrum But then a change from four onto two The leather clad Spinks rode from here and to there Until he saw sense and searching for a looker He'll be remembered for all sorts of reasons Football, cycling rugby and even skiing Some tried to show him a new sport with stick His razor sharp humour will have left many a scar Some of his best friends fortunately cannot be here They said their piece more often than most The police and loss adjuster he knew them both well So think of John at your next insurance renewal John joined us feet first in 1956 Hes not leaving today without saying goodbye He'll live on in Family and friends and not out of sight (If any body wants to add to it by putting together two lines that
rhyme or nearly rhyme, please email your addition to editor@johnspinks.co.uk and
we'll see how long it gets) |
